Hasar Organization participated in the European Union’s Climate Pact Conference in Brussels.
On February 1, 2023, the EU Climate Pact conference was held in Brussels with more than hundreds of participations worldwide. Hawkar Ali Abdulhaq, the founder of the Hasar Organization, was one of the participants in this conference.
Several panels were held at the conference, and climate activists and EU politicians participated in the discussion to focus on climate action. “Social crisis and climate crisis are the faces of the same coin,” said Frans Timmermans, Vice-President of the European Commission. The most effective approach everyone agreed on is to refrain from supporting products that lead to deforestation. Products should be certified according to the degree of harm to the climate.
“I was the only person from my country in this event. It was a new experience to be in such flagship events,” said Hawkar. Hasar has devoted its capacity and commitment to fighting climate change. Hasar wants to get closer to the issue at the international level and get more support for the case of fighting climate change for the Kurdistan Region.
The European Climate Pact is an initiative of the European Commission supporting the implementation of the European Green Deal. It is a movement to build a greener Europe, providing a platform to work and learn together, develop solutions, and achieve real change.
Hasar wants to thank its sponsor, Cihan Bank, for its continuous support in providing financial aid.
