OUR STORY

Hasar Partners was founded to bring about significant climate resilience in the Kurdistan Region, starting its journey in 2019. Initiated by Hawkar Ali Abdulhaq, an Earth Science Engineer and activist, and supported by Naz Nawzad Bajgar of Cihan Bank, along with Gashbin Idris Ali and a passionate team, we’ve grown into a notable non-profit focused on making communities and ecosystems stronger against climate change.

We aim to empower 20 million people in vulnerable regions with the ability to withstand environmental challenges, focusing on sustainable water use, reforestation, soil improvement, and socio-economic sustainability. Since our start, we’ve managed to launch major projects such as planting 310,000 trees and introducing innovative wastewater recycling systems, creating jobs and enhancing lives.

Our work involves detailed planning, from getting permissions to implementing projects and measuring their impact, all while maintaining our values of commitment, circularity, and transparency. Partnerships with organizations like UNICEF, the KRG government, and various corporations and startups have been crucial to our progress.

Looking ahead, we’re scaling up our efforts through the Hasar Climate Resilience Impact Credits initiative and expanding into Europe to connect with more partners and investors.
