This project attempts to combat climate change and it is an approach to net-zero emission. Hasar’s main strategic approach is based on collaboration between community youth on implementing climate action projects across the Kurdistan Region of Iraq
What is the Problem?
Climate Change is happening due to increasing the concentration of Greenhouse Gases (GHG)s in the atmosphere specifically Carbone Dioxide (CO2), and (CH4). Greenhouse gases trap heat and make the planet warmer. Human activities are responsible for almost all of the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere over the last 150 years. From observations, industrialization and the use of fossil-fuel-based automobiles are causing a drastic upsurge in GHG emissions out of which transportation is responsible for one-fifth of aggregate CO2 emissions with 75% contribution from road transport. Electricity production generates the second-largest share of greenhouse gas emissions. Approximately 60% of our electricity comes from burning fossil fuels, mainly coal and natural gas.
Make Solar Energy The First Choice
Generally, developed nations have higher carbon footprints and higher CO2 emissions per country. This is largely due to their more robust energy industries, which burn large amounts of fossil fuels to provide electricity, which contributes greatly to emissions. Nations can reduce their carbon footprint in many ways. Methods often employed include generating electricity from renewable energy sources, one of the sources is using solar energy instead of fossil fuels. Hasar Organization by working in Hybrid Office Management System (HOMS), can reduce CO2 emissions from 4.01 kg to 2.51 kg of CO2 during its daily work. This means by this style of working Hasar could reduce the rate of CO2 emission by 1.6 times compared to the Traditional Office Management System (TOMS). In order to reduce the rate of emission, Hasar plans to use energy instead of coal power as a renewable source of electricity for its home pod offices, which is 20 times less than the output of coal-powered sources.
A Hybrid Office for Management and Execution Systems
Transportation reasons especially the use of cars are the main source of emitting CO2 into the atmosphere. In the KRI a large number of employees that work in the general and private sectors, use the car for reaching their workplace. Hasar Organization can solve this problem by working with Hybrid Office Management System (HOMS).
Currently, 46% of Hasar staff work online at home, which means they don’t need to use cars to go to work. Which has caused a decreased range of CO2 emissions by Hasar’s staff from 92.74 kg to 34.69 kg of CO2 during its daily work. With this style of working Hasar could reduce the rate of CO2 emission by 2.67 times compared to the Traditional Office Management System (TOMS) where all of its employees are working in an office.
In providing a suitable environment for working online at home, in a way that there will be no interruptions, and no electricity, heat, coldness, and noise problems. In the near future, Hasar Organization wants to use a special type of Pod home office, that requires very little area, and all the needs of working are provided inside it.
Here is our model for the full system.
