Hasar Partners at the Forefront of Climate Resilience for Children: Reflections from the 2024 UNICEF-NGO Consultations

This April, Hasar Partners proudly represented Iraq at the 2024 UNICEF-NGO Consultations in Geneva, Switzerland. Joining a diverse group of NGOs from around the world, we were honored to share our insights and reaffirm our commitment to combating the impacts of climate change on vulnerable populations, particularly children.

At Hasar Partners, we understand that nature-based solutions are key to sustainable development. That’s why we implement large-scale projects that protect the environment while enhancing core humanitarian standards within the communities we serve. During the consultations, we emphasized the integration of carbon financing and carbon credits into humanitarian interventions. This approach promotes sustainability while amplifying the impact of our efforts, making them more effective and extensive.

As a dedicated partner of UNICEF in 2024, Hasar Partners remains committed to ensuring that children—who are innocent victims of climate change and bear no responsibility for it—can grow up in environments that meet optimum core humanitarian standards. We believe that through strong partnerships and solutions, we can make a significant difference in the lives of these young individuals.

Our participation in the Geneva consultations was a vital step toward furthering these goals, allowing us to voice the specific needs of our region and to learn from the experiences of others globally. As we continue our work, we remain focused on delivering projects that meet immediate needs while providing long-lasting benefits to both people and the ecosystem.

Hasar Partners is more than just an organization; we are a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change in the face of global challenges. Together with UNICEF and our other partners, we are creating a resilient future for the next generation.

Thanks to ICVA for sponsoring our travel to Geneva, enabling our visit to be in person. We appreciate UNICEF’s support to youth leaders from local communities.
